Standard and Expandable 20' Command and Control Shelters

It consists essentially of Standard 20' and Expandable 20' shelters suitable for forming the basic structure for the deployment of an automated command post in the various types of military operations conducted by the Italian Army on national territory and “outside the area”.

In order to achieve the optimal configuration of the Command Post, workstations with actual workstations, racks dedicated to telecommunications equipment, printers, plotters, switches, routers and all the tools suitable for the synchronised work of a staff of about 10 operators have been installed.

Main features of the system

• Expandable 20' shelter with a surface area of 24 square metres, excluding basic systems;
• Capable of being configured for use directly on the vehicle for land transport;
• Protection of personnel health and safety;
• Autonomous or external power supply with automatic switching;
• Autonomous air conditioning of operating environments;
• Operates in all weather and atmospheric conditions, even in adverse climates such as desert, tropical, subpolar and alpine areas;
• Limits/masks electromagnetic emissions from electronic components as much as possible;
• Designed to operate in NBC-ROTA environments;
• Has autonomous camouflage capabilities on the ground;
• Can be deployed quickly in any operational context;
• Transportable on container platforms in accordance with ISO668 1C (ISO 20ft) standard and APS or ASTRA 6×6 tactical military vehicles with twist lock anchoring (also with CHU Container Handling Unit supplied with APS95)
• CSC road certification;
• Air transportable on C130H/J aircraft in pressurised and non-pressurised compartments (loading without the aid of external k-loaders)
• Ship limited to the transport of shelters without any load on the roof (not stackable)
• Train (secured by I/F or straps and chains).
• Operating temperature: -40°C to +55°C (according to ASTM1925-99);
• Wind: gusts up to 130 km/h
• Hail: up to 30 mm max diameter (according to ASTM1925-99)
• Salt fog 10% NaCI, 96 hours
• Humidity 100% for 4 hours, 97% for 20 hours (according to ASTM1925-99)
• Rain > 40 mm/h with inclination up to 90°
• Solar radiation up to a maximum temperature of 95°C on the external surface of the roof.
